A MOVE to bigger and better premises has opened new windows of opportunity for a Coventry firm that is revolutionising the double glazing industry.
Holbrooks-based U-fit.co.uk, which specialises in supplying ‘do-it-yourself’ conservatories across the UK, relocated this month to a new factory nearly four times the size of its old premises.
The firm, which employs a 35-strong workforce at its new Boston Place base, is staying true to its Coventry roots by moving barely a quarter of a mile down the road from its former site in Endemere Road.
The Boston Place headquarters has been dubbed the ‘Pink Palace’ by staff and clients after its offices were repainted in the company’s corporate colours.
Now managing director John Armstrong is predicting an even brighter future for U-fit, which has gone from strength to strength since it was set up eight years ago. He is confident the company can boost its £3.2m turnover by more than half by April 2005.
Managing director John Armstrong said: “We are delighted with the progress we have made over the past 12 months and the move to new offices will consolidate our position as a national company and boost business further.
“We had simply outgrown our former base, but we were keen to stay in the Holbrooks area and continue supporting the industrial regeneration of north Coventry.”
“We offer a revolutionary assembly method on UPVC conservatories which saves our customers the expense of having to employ fitters, as they can do it themselves. And the response for this service has exceeded our expectations since we first set up eight years ago.”
The firm has been inundated with enquiries since its staff appeared on a BBC documentary last month, which captured the trials and tribulations of the office Christmas party. Website traffic has soared from 150 hits a day to 1,000 and the company has received thousands of emails.
