A Coventry firm created the ultimate must-have for every England football fan during the nation’s Euro 2004 campaign. National double-glazing company U-fit.co.uk, based in Holbrooks, put some thought into appealing to patriotic fans by developing doors and windows bearing the St George’s Cross. And despite England’s exit from Euro 2004, bosses at the firm believe demand for the doors and windows - which contain red and white resin in the glass - will remain strong during the national team’s next World Cup qualifying campaign and beyond. U-fit’s managing director John Armstrong said: “We wanted to do something as a company to cheer our boys on in Portugal. We felt that doors and windows with the St George’s Cross were an ideal tribute. “People can get into such a flap trying to drape flags outside their homes - they get trapped in windows, torn and drenched in wet weather. We want fans to be able to fly the flag for England all year round.”
