Gold metal bar: Gold square grid is contained within the sealed unit the layout is determined by us a single vertical bar with 1,2,3 or 4 horizontal sections.
Pilkingtons Activ glass Self-cleaning: Pilkington Activ™ Blue. The attractive blue glass that combines dual-action, self-cleaning properties with solar control performance for a cooler internal environment. It uses daylight and rainwater to break down and wash away organic dirt from exterior surfaces. Its unique blue colour also helps keep internal temperatures cooler whilst still maintaining excellent light transmittance. Pilkington Activ coating lasts the lifetime of the glass.
External Drainage Cill
99% of windows require an external cill. The cill allows water from the window drainage cavities to flow away from the brick work not down it.
If you have a stone cill you do not require a cill and the window will be face drained.
The cill is included in the overall height of the window and the survey size.Ie If you measure the brickwork opening, say it's 1200mm high after fitting tolerance deductions,we will actually make the window frame 1170mm high when the cill is added on (its 30mm) high it takes it back up to 1200mm over all.
Handle Colours
All window handles are push button to open with a key dead locck.
white standard, chrome,black, brushed chrome
Fire Escape Hinges
The fire escape hinge allows the window to open like a door for exit but also has an easy clean function fitted as standard.
All side hung openers will have a mullion split of 615 mm (measured edge of outer frame to mullion centre line) to comply with building regulations
Trickle Vents
Building regulations 2006 state that currently replacement windows should have trickle vents if the existing window has them.
From October 1st 2010 you don’t need them on replacement windows although in our opinion they are an excellent way to give secure back ground controllable ventilation in kitchens and bathrooms.
Trickle Vents
Choose from three transom depth options
The transom is the horizontal bar welded into the window frame,it can contain either an opening vent or be fixed
1) Default The transom location is 400mm deep measured from the top of the outer frame to the centre line of the transom bar.
2) Equally split The transom is located in the middle.Measured from bottom/top of frame to the centre line of the transom commonly used on larger top hung openers
3)Custom If you want a larger opener the transom drop can increased from 400mm to your own custom size, please contact us for details.
Knock-ons
We manufacture a 70 mm front to back window system the internal depth of the frame is 60mm deep.If you have a plaster depth of 30mm you would see 30mm of frame on the inside of the property.
In some instances your property may have particularly deep plaster lines in which case you may require a 20 mm frame extender section to be added to the frame to prevent the frame section being obscured by the plaster line.
The 20 mm frame extender can be added to any or all 4 sides of the frame
